Overview of this location
Takachiho Shrine, said to have been founded some 1,900 years ago and the head shrine of the eighty-eight shrines of the Takachiho district. An 800-year-old cedar known as the Chichibu-sugi stands in the grounds, and kagura is performed here every night.
