Overview of this location
The Katakurakan in Suwa, a Western-style bathhouse built in 1928 by the silk-fortune Katakura family, now an Important Cultural Property. Its famous Senninburo is a marble pool 1.1 metres deep, bathed standing, with pebbles underfoot. The building is a familiar film location too.
