Overview of this location
The ruins of Nagahama Castle in Uchiura — a sea fortress built as a base for the Takeda navy in the Warring States period, its enclosures and dry moats now maintained and open. Small as castle sites go, but a naval castle is a rarity, and the earthworks look straight down onto the water.
