The Yuinen invocation stone in Uchiura, carved with the nenbutsu in the hand of Yuinen, an itinerant devotee who walked the Tokai region in the late Edo period — one of several such stones surviving along this coast. They are linked to the memory of coastal life, including memorials for tsunami dead.
