Overview of this location
Nashinoki-zaka in Hongo. The residential quarter south-west of the University of Tokyo keeps dozens of named slopes, and this one lies close to Kikuzaka of Higuchi Ichiyo fame. Each turning seems to shift the lanes back a different number of decades — Hongo's terrain of slopes, felt underfoot.
