Overview of this location
A clock hanging in the Sanjo Meitengai arcade. Sanjo-dori was Kyoto's main business street in the Meiji era, lined with banks and post offices, and several of those brick buildings still stand toward the Karasuma end. The arcade occupies the stretch east of them, and this clock has long served as its meeting point.
