Overview of this location
Kyoto City Hall at Kawaramachi-Oike. The main building, completed in 1927 to designs by Takeda Goichi and others, mixes Western structure with East Asian motifs into a façade all its own. Recent works seismically strengthened and restored it, and the front plaza serves for meeting up and for events.
