The crossing of Shijo-dori and Kawaramachi-dori, at the centre of Kyoto's busiest shopping district. Hankyu's Kyoto-Kawaramachi station lies beneath it, and department stores and fashion buildings stand on all four corners. The junction's name doubles as shorthand for shopping and for meeting up.
