Overview of this location
The street running north to south along the Takase River. The waterway was cut in 1611 by Suminokura Ryoi to move goods, and flat-bottomed takasebune once worked up and down it. Today restaurants and bars crowd both banks, and after dark the whole street disappears under lights.
