In front of a souvenir shop in Arashiyama, on the run of stores leading from the north end of Togetsukyo bridge — Japanese sundries, Kyoto pickles and fresh yatsuhashi stacked out front. Foot traffic on this street is enormous, and the calling from shop doorways never lets up all day.
