Overview of this location
A large housing estate first occupied in 1959. One of the flagship projects of the early Japan Housing Corporation, it became a national symbol of modern living — the Crown Prince and Princess visited, and the word danchizoku entered the language around it. Redevelopment has since reshaped it into a green, low-rise neighbourhood.
