Overview of this location
A bust of Furukawa Tetsujiro, who gave the school to the town. A nephew of Ito Chubei and an Omi merchant himself, he helped lay the foundations of Marubeni, and is said to have spent the greater part of his fortune on this building. On completion it was called the finest primary school in the East.
