Overview of this location
Part of the cycle route running from Kyoto toward Nara, here following the top of the Kizu River levee. There are almost no traffic lights, and from the embankment you look out across the floodplain to the villages on the far bank. On a still day it is a pleasure; with nothing to break the wind, a headwind is merciless.
