Overview of this location
The foot of a bridge over the Takano River. The river comes down from Ohara into the Kyoto basin and joins the Kamo at Demachiyanagi to become the Kamogawa. The banks are low and the water close, so ducks and herons are permanent residents, and people wander down to the water's edge to sit.
